Belief or Unbelief 12-08-16

(CLICK THE TITLE) Good morning and praise the Lord for another day and another chance to spread the gospel. Today’s message is short but sweet. Let it bless you.

Today’s Prayer
(This is personal)

Father, Your Word is such a blessing and a comfort. Your promises give hope and joy to life. “Now I know that if the earthly tent I live in is destroyed, I have a building from You, God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. Meanwhile, I groan, longing to be clothed with my heavenly dwelling, because when I am clothed, I will not be found naked. For while I am in this tent, I groan and am burdened, because…I wish to be clothed with my heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. Now it is You, God, who has made me for this very purpose and has given me the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come….I live by faith, not by sight….I make it my goal to please You, Lord, whether I am at home in the body or away from it” (based on 2 Corinthians 5). Help me Lord, to be content in this body while there is work left on this earth, and to please You while I look forward to that glorious reunion. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Belief or Unbelief

…”Abraham believed GOD, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” – Romans 4:3

I’m going to make a statement that is not going to sit well with some of you reading this message. You can be a believer yet act as though there is no God. Whenever you fret over life circumstances, you immediately demonstrate unbelief. Whenever you move out of fear or anxiety, you believe a lie about God’s nature.

Each day your actions affirm or convict you of your belief system. It reveals who the central focus of your life really is – you or God. It reveals who you place your ultimate trust in – you or God. It is one of the great paradoxes for believers. One day we can believe Him to move mountains. The next day we can question His very existence.

Peter believed God and walked on water.

A sick woman touched the hem of His garment and was healed.

A Canaanite woman believed and freed her daughter from demon-possession.

In what circumstances do you act as an “unbeliever”? Ask God to increase your level of trust so that your actions match up with one who believes every day.

Quote of the Day

If you have really handed yourself over to Him it must follow that you are trying to obey Him. But trying in a new way, a less worried way. Not doing these things in order to be saved, but because He has begun to save you already. Not hoping to get Heaven as a reward for your actions, but inevitably wanting to act in a certain way because a first faint gleam of Heaven is already inside you.

I just woke up in pain with a very nauseated feeling that caused me to vomit. I’ve have never had an operation of any kind. Well, being that I’m 53 years old something is inevitably gonna go wrong.
Immediately, I though of C. S. Lewis when he made a statement, ( I can only remember the last part of it), he said, “Pain is God’s megaphone to rouse the world” – something like that.

I’ve never really told you how much I appreciate your ministry.
    You are very admirable.
Thank you for the times you’ve prayed for me. One Day I hope to meet you. Thank you.
