DO GREAT THINGS 06-13-22

This is the day for the Lord Has made and I will rejoice and be glad in it. I want to take this time to say thanks to all of you that covered my family and me in prayer. We feel it! Take some time today and let God know that you love Him.

Today’s Prayer

Father, Your Holy Spirit has taught the importance of commitment. You have witnessed the devastating affects of broken commitments through the ages. Please help us to be a group of people who always keep our promises and take our commitments seriously. We pray that we would not ever commit a sin that passes consequences down to the generations that come after us, but that we will live a Godly life that passes Your blessings and a Christian heritage down to those precious generations. In the name of Jesus, deliver us from all harm and evil and protect our families from the evil one. And as for me and my spiritual house, let us serve the Lord forever. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Two Great Works

The Work of Christ for us

John 17:1-5

1.  When Jesus had finished saying all these things he looked up to heaven and said, “Father, the time has come. Reveal the glory of your Son so that he can give the glory back to you.

 2.  For you have given him authority over every man and woman in all the earth. He gives eternal life to each one you have given him.

 3.  And this is the way to have eternal life–by knowing you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth!

 4.  I brought glory to you here on earth by doing everything you told me to.

 5.  And now, Father, reveal my glory as I stand in your presence, the glory we shared before the world began.

Perfect; The Work of the Spirit in us

Philippians 1:2-6

2.  May God bless you all. Yes, I pray that God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ will give each of you his fullest blessings, and his peace in your hearts and your lives.

 3.  All my prayers for you are full of praise to God!

 4.  When I pray for you, my heart is full of joy,

 5.  because of all your wonderful help in making known the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now.

 6.  And I am sure that God who began the good work within you will keep right on helping you grow in his grace until his task within you is finally finished on that day when Jesus Christ returns.

The first situation never needs to be repeated.

The second situation is being continuously effected.

Quote of the Day

Too many churches today are devoid of the Spirit of Pentecost because they are dry and stale, where people are in a stupor; where worship services are wooden and so scripted that they are hollow; where the preaching is dull and flat; where the singing is Geritol-tired and without the vim and vigor which speaks of a crucified, died and risen Lord; where if anyone taps his foot and says, “Amen”, he is stared into silence, and if anyone shouts, “Thank you, Jesus” the people call the EMS or 911! ~Carlyle Fielding~
