Facing the giants in your life 01-19-17

(CLICK THE TITLE) Good morning and praise God for the wonders of life He bestows on us daily. I was compelled to talk about the things that hold us back in our spiritual lives. Let it bless you today.

Today’s Prayer

Father, I am urged in my spirit to come before you this morning on behalf of myself and all married couples everywhere to ask that you would remind us that in a marriage it is important for each partner to have the same goals in life, and to hold to the same high moral standards. If we are to live with our mate “until death do us part,” then we must help him/her to be more lovable. How? By being more lovable ourselves! Love must be completely unselfish, sacrificial, each wanting to help to develop his/her mate’s uniqueness to the fullest. It involves risk, doesn’t it? But then the love of Jesus was offered with a risk too. Help us to remember to make Jesus the center strand of the cord that will hold our marriages together, for our marriages will be at risk without Him. Its in His matchless name I pray, Amen and Amen.

Let’s eat.

Facing the giants in your life

I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart. Mark 11:23

The message today is not long but it’s powerful. What are the giants you face in your everyday life? You know things like doubt, fear, discouragement, financial ruin, sickness and broken relationships. Do these things stop you in your tracks and make you cower and not believe the promises of God?

In Joshua 14, we read that Caleb faced a city of giants, and yet because he had wholly followed the Lord, he had the strength of the Lord and said, “Give me this mountain” (Joshua 14:11-12).

All of us face giants every day – those that were trying to go into the promise land saw the giants. Do you think the giants took God by surprise? God knew they were there all the time – they were part of His purpose to strengthen their faith. It’s time for us to get a bulldog grip on the Word of God and believe what He says to be true. With the promises of God in hand, the bigger the giant, the harder they fall. Let that stay in your spirit forever.

Quote of the Day

We will have to repent in this generation not merely for the hateful words and actions of the bad people, but for the appalling silence of the good people.
