FOUR SITUATIONS 04-02-22

_ 022916 HOLY GHOST POWER

Oh give thanks unto the Lord for He is good yes He is good. As I was sitting here it struck me that if we are living by any other principle other than the word of God, we are not alive at all, only existing. Let that hit your spirit for a while and see what you come up with.

Today’s Prayer

Father, help us during the season we are in to realize that we need to be willing to surrender every part of our lives to You — our worst as well as our best. Then we can be truly resurrected! Let us be willing to die to our old ways and to start a new life — Your way. In the matchless name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Four Mighty Situations

An Invitation to the Weary

Matthew 11:28-30

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

A Call to the Thirsty

John 7:37-39

On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me! Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’” (When he said “living water,” he was speaking of the Spirit, who would be given to everyone believing in him. But the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet entered into his glory.)

A Promise to the Sinful

Isaiah 1:18

“Come now, let’s settle this,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool.

A Warning to the Careless

2 Peter 3:10

But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be found to deserve judgment.

Quote of the Day

Praying gives sense, brings wisdom, and broadens and strengthens the mind. The prayer closet is a perfect schoolteacher and schoolhouse for the preacher. Thought is not only brightened and clarified in prayer, but thought is born in prayer. We can learn more in an hour praying, when praying indeed, than from many hours of rigorous study.
