GOD’S DESCRIPTION OF MAN 03-19-19

Good morning everyone. I spent most of the evening last night just concentrating on what the Lord must be thinking about Christians and about how we are handling ourselves, so I was compelled to go to the book of Romans to get some information to share. Savor the morsels.

Today’s Prayer

Father, the prayer is simple this morning. Thank you for loving us enough to send the second Adam to wipe away the faults of the first one and to give us sinners a savior to clean us up with His blood in order to make us acceptable to you. We will be forever grateful and give You all honor and glory in Jesus’ wonderful name, Amen and Amen.

Let’s eat.

God’s Description of Man

In Romans 5

Man’s State “Ungodly” and “Without Strength”
(Verses 6-7)

When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good.

Alienation from God-Man’s Place “Sinners”
(Verses 8-9)

But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation.

Activity in Sin-Man’s Practice “Enemies”
(Verses 10-11)

For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.

Quote of the Day

To worship is to quicken the conscience by the holiness of God, to feed the mind with the truth of God, to purge the imagination by the beauty of God, to open the heart to the love of God, to devote the will to the purpose of God.
