Instructions for Christian Households 07-10-16

_ 071016 CONDUCT

(CLICK THE TITLE) Good morning everyone. Today, we are going to stand on the word of God like no other time in our lives. We are being persecuted just as the word said we would be. Now is the time for us as Christians to put up or shut up. What will you DO?

Today’s Prayer

Lord, help us to remember that although Your grace is free, discipleship is costly. If we truly accept You as our Lord and Savior, and commit ourselves to You, then out of love we will want to serve You, seeking to know Your will and to be obedient to it. Help us to be a channel of Your love, Your healing, and Your strength that others may see You in us. That’s what it is all about, this being a Christian. You first loved us, and we are to pass Your love on to others. And let us count it all joy. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.

Let’s eat.

Instructions for Christian Households

Colossians 3:18-25

You wives must submit to your husbands, as is fitting for those who belong to the Lord. And you husbands must love your wives and never treat them harshly. You children must always obey your parents, for this is what pleases the Lord. Fathers, don’t aggravate your children. If you do, they will become discouraged and quit trying. You slaves must obey your earthly masters in everything you do. Try to please them all the time, not just when they are watching you. Obey them willingly because of your reverent fear of the Lord. Work hard and cheerfully at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and the Master you are serving is Christ. But if you do what is wrong, you will be paid back for the wrong you have done. For God has no favorites who can get away with evil.

Quote of the Day

God is not like a earthly parent. His ‘not yet’ means just that, ‘not yet’ and not ‘no’. Earthly parents sometimes lie with the words ‘not yet’, when they mean ‘no’, thinking they are being kind. God’s ‘yes’ is always ‘yes’ and His ‘no’ is always ‘no’. He does not forget His promises and makes no promises He will not keep.
