Life, in Relation to Christ 03-16-17

(CLICK THE TITLE) Good morning everyone. Oh give thanks unto the Lord for He is good yes He is good. Today we are going to take a look at what the bible says about life as a Christian. Get ready, get ready, and get ready.

Today’s Prayer

Father, remind us that when we truly commit our lives to You, it means that we accept You as Lord of our lives, that we are willing to stop going our own way and “doing our own thing,” and that we are now ready to commit to seeking Your will for our lives. Give us the strength to keep our resolve. Remind us too that You do indeed answer prayers, not always as we may desire, but according to what we are ready for, or what is best for us. You may answer: “Yes,” “No,” “Wait a while,” or “I have something better in mind!” Oh Lord, help us to realize that we can truly count on You; the question is: “Will You be able to count on us?” Help us, Lord, for we are often weak. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Let’s eat.

Life, in Relation to Christ

Life from Christ

John 7:37-38

On the last day, the climax of the holidays, Jesus shouted to the crowds, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. For the Scriptures declare that rivers of living water shall flow from the inmost being of anyone who believes in me.”

 It’s Source Life by Christ

John 6:37

But some will come to me–those the Father has given me–and I will never, never reject them.

 It’s Sustenance Life like Christ

1 Peter 2:21

This suffering is all part of the work God has given you. Christ, who suffered for you, is your example. Follow in his steps:

 It’s Pattern, Life for Christ

Philippians 1:21

For to me, living means opportunities for Christ, and dying–well, that’s better yet!

Quote of the Day

Jesus evidently felt deeply the emptiness and futility of much… religious talk. He was interested only in those emotions and professions which could get themselves translated into character and action. Words have always been the bane of religion as well as its vehicle. Religious emotion has enormous motive force, but it is the easiest thing in the world for it to sizzle away in high professions and wordy prayers . In that case, it is a substitute and counterfeit, and a damage to the Reign of God among men.
