Greetings everyone and thanks to God, Because of His grace we have another day. The question that just keeps jumping in my spirit is; where is your heart? The true answer to that is between you and God.
Today’s Prayer
Father, on behalf of my brothers and sisters in Christ I ask that You help us remember that although Your grace is free, discipleship is costly. If we truly accept Jesus as the Lord of our lives and commit ourselves to You, then out of love we will want to serve You, seeking to know Your will and to be obedient to it. Help us to be a channel of Your love, Your healing, and Your strength that others may see Jesus in us. That’s what it is all about, isn’t it — this being a Christian? You first loved us, and we are to pass Your love on to others. And let us count it all joy. In Jesus’ holy name I pray, Amen.
Let’s eat.
The Heart
A Dark Heart
Romans 1:21 –
Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused.
In Nature; A Hard Heart
Matthew 19:8 –
Jesus replied,“Moses permitted divorce only as a concession to your hard hearts, but it was not what God had originally intended.
By Sin; A Tender Heart
2 Kings 22:19 –
You were sorry and humbled yourself before the Lord when you heard what I said against this city and its people—that this land would be cursed and become desolate. You tore your clothing in despair and wept before me in repentance. And I have indeed heard you, says the Lord.
Through Grace; An Open Heart
Acts 16:14 –
One of them was Lydia from Thyatira, a merchant of expensive purple cloth, who worshiped God. As she listened to us, the Lord opened her heart, and she accepted what Paul was saying.
By the Spirit; A Clean Heart
1 Peter 1:22 –
You were cleansed from your sins when you obeyed the truth, so now you must show sincere love to each other as brothers and sisters. Love each other deeply with all your heart.
Through Regeneration; A True Heart
Hebrews 10:22 –
let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.
Quote of the Day
I need Thee, O Lord, for a curb on my tongue; when I am tempted to making carping criticisms and cruel judgments, keep me from speaking barbed words that hurt, and in which I find perverted satisfaction. Keep me from unkind words and from unkind silences. Restrain my judgments. Make my criticisms kind, generous, and constructive. Make me sweet inside, that I may be gentle with other people, gentle in the things I say, kind in what I do. Create in me that warmth of mercy that shall enable others to find Thy strength for their weakness, Thy peace for their strife, Thy joy for their sorrow, Thy love for their hatred, Thy compassion for their weakness. In thine own strong name, I pray. Amen. ~Peter Marshall~
