NO HYPOCRISY 08-30-22

As I woke up, the following question hit my spirit; “are you for real or are you acting?” I really gave this some thought before answering myself. Now the question goes to you but don’t answer to me, answer yourself and God. The message will deal with this subject today.

Today’s Prayer

Father, on behalf of my brothers and sisters everywhere I want to present the following; “It’s the simple things” in life, the things that can irritate us and the things that can bring us the most pleasure. I want to thank you for the small things and the simple things. Like the Ant, a small thing to one person can be great thing to someone else. Please help us stop and think before we react to little things that irritate us. Help us to always appreciate the simple things of life, for they are truly what we enjoy. Thank you for the beaches, mountains, lakes and forests; thank you for the light and warmth of the sun and the freshness and life in cooling rain; thank you for the wildflower so bright and pretty and the singing bird so beautiful; thank you for a child’s love and a pet’s devotion; thank you for a baby’s breath and an old person’s smile; thank you for a glass of cold water on a hot summer day. I could go on and on because there are endless things to be thankful for, but the greatest of all is love. We love you. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

A Warning against Hypocrisy

Luke 14:1-12

Meanwhile, the crowds grew until thousands were milling about and stepping on each other. Jesus turned first to his disciples and warned them, “Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees—their hypocrisy. The time is coming when everything that is covered up will be revealed, and all that is secret will be made known to all. Whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered behind closed doors will be shouted from the housetops for all to hear! “Dear friends, don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot do any more to you after that. But I’ll tell you whom to fear. Fear God, who has the power to kill you and then throw you into hell. Yes, he’s the one to fear. “What is the price of five sparrows—two copper coins? Yet God does not forget a single one of them. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows. “I tell you the truth, everyone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth, the Son of Man will also acknowledge in the presence of God’s angels. But anyone who denies me here on earth will be denied before God’s angels. Anyone who speaks against the Son of Man can be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. “And when you are brought to trial in the synagogues and before rulers and authorities, don’t worry about how to defend yourself or what to say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what needs to be said.”

Quote of the Day

In David’s complaint to God, he said, “You have made my days as handbreadths, and my age is as nothing before You”. He meant that to an eternal God our time on earth is brief. And He doesn’t want us to waste it. When we do, we throw away one of the most precious commodities He gives us. Each minute is an irretrievable gift – and unredeemable slice of eternity. Sure, we have to make the phone calls, and we must wait at the light. But what about the rest of our time? Are we using it to advance the cause of Christ and to enhance our relationship with Him? Is our time well spent? ~Anonymous~
