_ 101514 Strongholds

Oh give thanks unto the Lord for He is good yes He is good and worthy of our praise. We are going to knock down some strongholds today with scriptures. Get ready to be freed up from the bondage.

Today’s Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, as we continue to reflect on the way to encourage virtuous living among ourselves, help us to see that it must be rooted in parental example and teaching – right from wrong, respect for life and for others, and respect for the law. This must be expressed in good manners, and in lending a helping hand to someone in need. These attitudes and actions must be reinforced in our schools. Only then, when we adults, youth, and children act responsibly can we restore safety to our neighborhoods, our streets, and our homes! Only then can we live and enjoy real freedom! Only then, when we honor and restore virtuous living can we ask and expect You to bless our nation. Only then can we truly be “one nation under God, of the people, by the people, and for the people.” Help us, Lord, for we are becoming numb to our sins, and deaf to Your teachings. In Jesus’ wonderful name we pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Refuges of Lies

Isaiah 28:15-17

You boast, “We have struck a bargain to cheat death and have made a deal to dodge the grave. The coming destruction can never touch us, for we have built a strong refuge made of lies and deception.” Therefore, this is what the Sovereign LORD says: “Look! I am placing a foundation stone in Jerusalem, a firm and tested stone. It is a precious cornerstone that is safe to build on. Whoever believes need never be shaken. I will test you with the measuring line of justice and the plumb line of righteousness. Since your refuge is made of lies, a hailstorm will knock it down. Since it is made of deception, a flood will sweep it away.

God is merciful

Hebrews 10:26-28

Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins. There is only the terrible expectation of God’s judgment and the raging fire that will consume his enemies. For anyone who refused to obey the law of Moses was put to death without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.

No worse than my neighbors

2 Corinthians 10:12

Oh, don’t worry; we wouldn’t dare say that we are as wonderful as these other men who tell you how important they are! But they are only comparing themselves with each other, using themselves as the standard of measurement. How ignorant!

We must wait on God’s time

2 Corinthians 6:2

For God says, “At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you.” Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation.

If I am one of the elect

1 Timothy 2:1-4

I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.

There is mercy at the eleventh hour

Proverbs 27:1

Don’t brag about tomorrow, since you don’t know what the day will bring.

*** The Scriptures quoted above, demolish the false refuges into which the devil seeks to lure sinners

Quote of the Day

Satan has in fact a plan against the saints of the Most High which is to wear them out. What is meant by this phrase, “wear out”? It has in it the idea of reducing a little this minute, then reducing a little further the next minute. Reduce a little today, reduce a little tomorrow. Thus the wearing out is almost imperceptible; nevertheless, it is a reducing. The wearing down is scarcely an activity of which one is conscious, yet the end result is that there is nothing left. He will take away your prayer life little by little, and cause you to trust God less and less and yourself more and more, a little at a time. He will make you feel somewhat cleverer than before. Step by step, you are misled to rely more on your own gift, and step by step your heart is enticed away from the Lord. Now, were Satan to strike the children of God with great force at one time, they would know exactly how to resist the enemy since they would immediately recognize his work. He uses the method of gradualism to wear down the people of God. ~Watchman Nee~
