Rejection 02-08-20

Good day everyone. Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice. I’m going to share with you something that I believe all of us that are boldly compelled to share the goods news experience at one time or another; rejection by those close to you when trying to persuade them to change their ways. Today after we pray, I will share what Jesus says about the situation.

Today’s Prayer

Father, “We asked for all things, that we might enjoy life; we where given life, that we might enjoy all things!” Forgive us all Lord for too often concentrating on what we don’t have, and taking for granted what we do have! Help us to resolve to start each day counting our blessings: (1) Any day we can get out of bed is a plus, and we thank You, Lord; (2) If we can’t get out of bed, we thank You for a bed in which to rest; (3) we thank You for family and friends; (4) If we have neither family nor friends, we thank you for those who lend us a helping hand; (5) we thank You Lord, for the beauties of nature around us — sunrises, sunsets, mountains or plains, rain, snow, flowers and bird songs — for beauty is often in the eye of the beholder, and help us to be sensitive to Your gift of creation; (6) Thank You for our daily work, and if there are any of us seeking employment, help us not to be above taking temporary employment while seeking Your guidance. Oh Lord, help us, while waiting, to learn to enjoy the moment, and to praise You even then. In Jesus’ wonderful name we pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Jesus Rejected at Nazareth

Mark 6:1-6

Jesus left that part of the country and returned with his disciples to Nazareth, his hometown. The next Sabbath he began teaching in the synagogue, and many who heard him were amazed. They asked, “Where did he get all this wisdom and the power to perform such miracles?” Then they scoffed, “He’s just a carpenter, the son of Mary and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas, and Simon. And his sisters live right here among us.” They were deeply offended and refused to believe in him. Then Jesus told them, “A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own hometown and among his relatives and his own family.” And because of their unbelief, he couldn’t do any miracles among them except to place his hands on a few sick people and heal them. And he was amazed at their unbelief.

So don’t get discouraged in your well doing. Our Lord and savior was rejected by those close to Him too. As the bible tells us; count it all joy”.

Quote of the Day

Salvation may be described as the blind receiving sight, the deaf receiving hearing, the dead receiving life; but we have not only received these blessings, we have received CHRIST JESUS Himself. It is true that He gave us life from the dead. He gave us pardon of sin; He gave us imputed righteousness. These are all precious things, but we are not content with them; we have received Christ Himself. The Son of God has been poured into us, and we have received Him, and appropriated Him. What a heart full Jesus must be, for heaven itself cannot contain Him!
