ROOT AND FRUIT 05-16-16

_ 091614 Bearing Fruit

(CLICK THE TITLE) Good morning and praise the Lord for everything that has happened in our lives to this point, good and bad. The thing all of us need to do daily is to ask God to continually fill us with the Holy Ghost, the sweetest gift man or woman can ever receive.

Today’s Prayer

Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).

Thank you Jesus, for your obedience to the Father. Thank you, God, for Your loving sacrifice. Thank you, Holy Ghost, for Your comforting guidance. Life is so much more with the hope we have in You, Lord. We are so glad that you have provided the way for us to have eternal life in Your presence–in a place where there will be no more tears and no more suffering; a place where there will be unimaginable joy, praise, worship, and peace. We praise You for Who You are and for what You have done. In Jesus’ name we pray and give thanks, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Root and Fruit

2 Kings 19:30

And you who are left in Judah, who have escaped the ravages of the siege, will put roots down in your own soil and will grow up and flourish. For a remnant of my people will spread out from Jerusalem, a group of survivors from Mount Zion. The passionate commitment of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies will make this happen!

Isaiah 37:31

And you who are left in Judah will take root again in your own soil and flourish and multiply.

“Root Downward” – The Hidden Life

Psalms 1:3

They are like trees along a river bank bearing luscious fruit each season without fail. Their leaves shall never wither, and all they do shall prosper.

Jeremiah 7:7-8

Then, and only then, will I let you stay in this land that I gave to your fathers to keep forever. You think that because the Temple is here, you will never suffer? Don’t fool yourselves!

John 15:1-5

“I am the true Vine, and my Father is the Gardener. He lops off every branch that doesn’t produce. And he prunes those branches that bear fruit for even larger crops. He has already tended you by pruning you back for greater strength and usefulness by means of the commands I gave you. Take care to live in me, and let me live in you. For a branch can’t produce fruit when severed from the vine. Nor can you be fruitful apart from me. “Yes, I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in me and I in him shall produce a large crop of fruit. For apart from me you can’t do a thing.

Jude 1:21

Stay always within the boundaries where God’s love can reach and bless you. Wait patiently for the eternal life that our Lord Jesus Christ in his mercy is going to give you.

“Fruit Upward” – The Manifested Life

Romans 7:4

Your “husband,” your master, used to be the Jewish law; but you “died,” as it were, with Christ on the cross; and since you are “dead,” you are no longer “married to the law,” and it has no more control over you. Then you came back to life again when Christ did, and are a new person. And now you are “married,” so to speak, to the one who rose from the dead, so that you can produce good fruit, that is, good deeds for God.

Ephesians 5:9

Because of this light within you, you should do only what is good and right and true.

Galatians 5:22

But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives he will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

Romans 6:22

But now you are free from the power of sin and are slaves of God, and his benefits to you include holiness and everlasting life.

Philippians 1:11

May you always be doing those good, kind things which show that you are a child of God, for this will bring much praise and glory to the Lord.

Quote of the Day

The way to grow in holiness is to be around people more holy than ourselves. We hear their stray comments and absorb their judgment of what’s important. We listen to their prayers and find that God is bigger than we’d thought.
