TRUTH IN A FEW ASPECTS 04-23-19

This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it. Today’s prayer and message is going to shake up some things inside us and stir up those spiritual juices that help us stand for what is right so get ready.

Today’s Prayer

Father, I come before you this morning on behalf of my brothers and sisters in Christ to ask that You would rescue us from ourselves, our pride, our being self- centered, and our “woe is me” attitude. Prod us when we are lazy, and convict us when we are wrong. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit, and enable us to be the kind of Christians we want to be, the kind that You know we can be with Your help. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Let’s eat.

Truth in a few Aspects

Clean

John 15:1-3 –

I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more. You have already been pruned and purified by the message I have given you.

Being cleansed

2 Corinthians 7:1 –

Because we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that can defile our body or spirit. And let us work toward complete holiness because we fear God.

Sanctified

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 –

Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God.

Being sanctified

John 17:17-19 –

Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth.Just as you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world. And I give myself as a holy sacrifice for them so they can be made holy by your truth.

Kept

1 Peter 1:5 –

And through your faith, God is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see.

Keep yourselves

Jude 21 –

and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love.

Quote of the Day

God has wisely kept us in the dark concerning future events and reserved for himself the knowledge of them that he may train us up in a dependence upon himself and a continued readiness for every event.
