WAIT ON THE LORD 06-30-20

Good day and give thanks unto the lord for he is good, yes he is good. The meal today is all about patience so get ready for some good eating!

Today’s Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, I feel the Holy Spirit tugging at my heart today, so I come before you on behalf of my brothers and sisters in Christ. I know that You want us to make the first move in restoring broken relationships because You know that for one, like me, to withdraw and leave another harboring resentments will cause each of us to suffer. Not only will we feel withdrawal from those in opposition to our words, but we will also feel estranged from You! Remind us that You desire Your Holy Spirit to flow through us to others! You want us to be Your Christian representative every day, not just on Sundays! You want us to live Your message by our example! With Your help, I know that we can. In the matchless name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Waiting Time Is Not Wasted Time

Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord. Psalm 27:14

The scripture above gives a pretty direct order and sometimes a very hard order to follow. Do you remember the story of Joshua and how the wall of Jericho fell down after the Israelites marched around it once a day for six days, then seven times on the seventh day? I know that there is someone reading this that has had the thought at one time or another; ‘why didn’t God show his power after they walked around Jericho one time?’ It was because God was testing their faith.

God was teaching them that waiting time is not wasted time. Isaiah 28:16 says, He that believeth shall not make haste.” God is never in a hurry, like we are. We get upset when we miss a favorite show on TV! God is also never late. He knows what He is doing. Do you know what our problem is? We’ve been around Jericho six times and we’re ready to quit. If we do the things that God has to prescribed in the situations we find ourselves in (the wall), things will come out alright (the wall has got to fall down).

My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from Him” (Psalm 62:5).
