Oh give thanks unto the Lord for He is good yes He is good and worthy of our praise. Today we are going to deal with some things that we have all heard during our lifetime. Let the truth bless you today.

Today’s Prayer

Father, You never said that life would be easy, but You did say that if we would believe in You, and commit our ways to Your way, that we could trust You, and that Your will would never take us beyond where Your grace could sustain us! Help us to realize that You loved us enough to send Your Son, both as an example and as a sacrifice for our sins. Open our eyes to see that today, when we take a stand with You and find society often quick to criticize and put us down, that it is then that we discover Your strength! Just as Jesus told apostle Paul, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in [your] weakness.” Forgive us for doubting that You care. Thank You for Your Holy Spirit’s communication line, just as Your Son promised. Help us to always keep the line open, not just in times of need, but to continually praise You and thank You for Your care and Your blessings. In the wonderful name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Common Truths

“As sure as death”

Hebrews 9:25-28

And he did not enter heaven to offer himself again and again, like the high priest here on earth who enters the Most Holy Place year after year with the blood of an animal. If that had been necessary, Christ would have had to die again and again, ever since the world began. But now, once for all time, he has appeared at the end of the age to remove sin by his own death as a sacrifice. And just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment, so also Christ died once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him.

“Gone to the majority”

Matthew 7:13

“You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way.

“Make the best of both worlds”

Matthew 6:24

“No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

“Look before you leap”

Proverbs 22:3

A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.

“Give the devil his due”

Revelation 20:10

Then the devil, who had deceived them, was thrown into the fiery lake of burning sulfur, joining the beast and the false prophet. There they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Goliath was beheaded with his own sword; so these pearls of wisdom may be used to bring God’s truth home to people of the world!

Quote of the Day

God’s Word will never pass away, but looking back to the Old Testament and since the time of Christ, with tears we must say that because of lack of fortitude and faithfulness on the part of God’s people, God’s Word has many times been allowed to be bent, to conform to the surrounding, passing, changing culture of that moment rather than to stand as the inerrant Word of God judging the form of the world spirit and the surrounding culture of that moment. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, may our children and grandchildren not say that such can be said about us. ~Francis A. Schaeffer~
