A LESSON ON PURITY 02-08-22

_ 020714 Purity

Praise the Lord for the right to witness this wonderful new day. The words “Spiritual Purity” dropped into my spirit as I sat to start my devotional time, so I’m going to share scriptures with you today that deal with the subject. Let it bless you.

Today’s Prayer

(This is a personal prayer. Please make it yours if it fits)

Father, “I got nothing that I asked for, but everything I hoped for. Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered. I am, among all men, most richly blessed.” I thank You, Lord, for the difference You have made in my life. Help me as a Christian, to be a person who can make this world a better place, because I have learned to seek Your will and be obedient to it. In the wonderful name of Jesus I submit this and all things, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Purity

God of pure eyes

Habakkuk 1:13 –

But you are pure and cannot stand the sight of evil. Will you wink at their treachery? Should you be silent while the wicked swallow up people more righteous than they?

The Necessity, Pure in their own eyes

Proverbs 30:11-12 –

Some people curse their father and do not thank their mother. They are pure in their own eyes, but they are filthy and unwashed.

Counterfeit; Purified in obeying the truth

1 Peter 1:22 –

You were cleansed from your sins when you obeyed the truth, so now you must show sincere love to each other as brothers and sisters. Love each other deeply with all your heart.

The Instrument purifying their hearts by faith

Acts 15:8-9 –

God knows people’s hearts, and he confirmed that he accepts Gentiles by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as he did to us. He made no distinction between us and them, for he cleansed their hearts through faith.

The Means; Purify unto Himself a people

Titus 2:14 –

He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.

The Object; Keep thyself pure

1 Timothy 5:22 –

Never be in a hurry about appointing a church leader. Do not share in the sins of others. Keep yourself pure.

Quote of the Day

To place ourselves in range of God’s choicest gifts, we have to walk with God, work with God, lean on God, cling to God, come to have the sense and feel of God, refer all things to God. ~Cornelius Plantinga, Jr.~
