A Reminder Of Comfort and Joy 12-09-18

Good day everyone. This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. The meal today is short and power packed so get ready to receive.

Today’s Prayer

Dear Lord Jesus, as Christians everywhere look forward to celebrating Your birthday, remind us to take time in the midst of all the hurried preparations to see Your Presence in a hundred different ways – the song of a bird; the brilliant hues of a sunrise or sunset; the encouragement of a friend; the hug of a mate, a parent or a child; the finding of something that was misplaced; an answer to prayer or a miracle healing. Oh Lord, Your Presence is everywhere – open our eyes that we may see, and give You thanks! You want our lives to be an adventure in faith; and Your faithfulness and love give us courage and purpose. Let us not miss all that You have for us. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.

Let’s eat.

Comfort and Joy

Isaiah 40

Comfort, comfort my people,” says your God. “Speak tenderly to Jerusalem. Tell her that her sad days are gone and her sins are pardoned. Yes, the Lordhas punished her twice over for all her sins.” Listen! It’s the voice of someone shouting, “Clear the way through the wilderness for the Lord! Make a straight highway through the wasteland for our God! Fill in the valleys, and level the mountains and hills. Straighten the curves, and smooth out the rough places. Then the glory of the Lordwill be revealed, and all people will see it together. The Lordhas spoken!”

Quote of the Day

When the devil is called the god of this world, it is not because he made it, but because we serve him with our worldliness.
