Today’s Prayer
Father, what will You say to those who choose to follow their own selfish aims, who do only what they can get away with; whether it be robbing people, cheating on a marriage, killing on the streets, or aborting their babies at a whim, or for convenience? What will You say when some people follow their own self-serving gains, legal or not, even those in high places? What will Christians say or do while all this is happening; will some remain quiet and close their eyes, trying to take the “high road” and think positive thoughts? What will You say, Lord? Will You say, “I never knew you?” Oh Lord, have we changed that much? Have we been too busy with our own lives? Have we been deceived, or blind to the dangers that surround us and can destroy us? Change our hearts today. In Jesus’ name we pray and give thanks, Amen.

What You Really Believe, You Will Act Upon
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Philippians 4:8
In doing research for this short message I read where a group of fifteen college professors who taught human motivation were asked to write a concise statement on human motivation. After hours of study, they said: “What the mind attends to, it considers. What the mind does not attend to, it dismisses. What the mind attends to continually, it believes. What the mind believes, it eventually does.”
My question to all of you today is how much of the Bible have you read? More importantly, how much are you applying to your life? Many of us read the Bible like a math book rather than a love story. We get the words, but we don’t get the music. It is not enough to simply read the Word. You must ask God to teach us. Psalm 119:18 says, Open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your instructions. I encourage you to go to Him today and ask for just that.
