Faith 040713

Good morning everyone. As I started my day, the word “faith” popped into my spirit very heavily. I started asking myself about my faith walk. Am I walking in the full faith and believing God in all things or do I just believe for some things? Pose that question to yourself this morning and see what you come up with.

Today’s Prayer

Father, I come before you this morning on behalf of my brothers and sister in Christ to say thank you for being God all by Yourself. Thank you for not leaving everything in our charge because without you we would surely mess things up in a big way. Thank You for the Holy Spirit that convicts Your children when we go astray and thank You for your faithfulness. I ask this morning that You please help us all increase our faith because You know that each and everyone of us needs a booster shot that only You can give. I give these and all things to You in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Growing in Faith

New Living Translation
2 Peter 1:3-11

By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires. In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone. The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But those who fail to develop in this way are shortsighted or blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their old sins. So, dear brothers and sisters, work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen. Do these things, and you will never fall away. Then God will give you a grand entrance into the eternal Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Quote of the Day

Of course if you are whimpering, and sniveling, and begging to be spared the discipline of life that is sent to knock some smatterings of manhood into us, the answer to that prayer may never come at all. Thank God! If you are not bleating to get off, but asking to be given grace and strength to see this through with honor, “The very day” you pray that prayer, the answer always comes.
