Good morning everyone. I had a very interesting experience yesterday. I spent a quite day after corporate praise and worship just letting God be God. I was reflecting on the fact that millions of people converged on Chicago on Friday to hear the Black Hawks speak at a championship celebration. Now wouldn’t it be great if we as Christians did such a great job of spreading the basics of the gospel that we had people standing in line to hear more? Let that marinate in your spirit for awhile.

Today’s Prayer

Father, forgive us for thinking that full-time discipleship is only for ministers or other professional Christian workers, for You have called each of us, Your people, to be full-time Christians, haven’t You — at home with our families, at our places of employment, while driving to work or to shop, and as we meet those who daily cross our paths? … Do we reflect You as we wait in a check-out line, and do we stand on Your Word as we face our political concerns and responsibilities? … Remind us that often our actions or lack of action speak louder than words, and that nations are in danger of falling when good people remain silent. Give us wisdom and courage to live every day as Your representatives, for we may be the only “gospel” that some people will ever encounter. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Let’s eat.

What and Who do you believe?

New Living Translation
John 16:12-15

“There is so much more I want to tell you, but you can’t bear it now. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. He will bring me glory by telling you whatever he receives from me. All that belongs to the Father is mine; this is why I said, ‘The Spirit will tell you whatever he receives from me.’

Quote of the Day

In this age of the pursuit of self gratification and self-indulgence, genuine, warm hospitality stands out as a practical example of unselfish giving. The attitude and act of welcoming a stranger into our lives as well as our homes may bear eternal fruit as well as be a practical form of ministry.
