_ 082114 Spiritual life

Good day everyone. Oh give thanks unto the Lord for He is good yes He is good and worthy of our praise. The very first word that dropped into my spirit this morning was ‘FREEDOM’ so we are going to snack on some related scripture and get revved up to finish off the work week.

Today’s Prayer

Father, I stand in the gap for my brothers and sisters everywhere to ask that You would remind us that there will never be enough ordained ministers and missionaries to change the world! Only Christians, by example and word, can contact one on one the unchurched and the agnostic or atheist in the world. Help us to truly be Your disciples. Give us the right words at the right time to share Your love, encouragement and comfort, so that others will desire to know You. In the wonderful name of Jesus I pray, Amen and Amen.

Let’s eat.

Life, Light, Liberty

Life in and from Christ by Faith

John 1:1-4

In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through him and nothing was created except through him. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone.

John 3:31-36

“He has come from above and is greater than anyone else. We are of the earth, and we speak of earthly things, but he has come from heaven and is greater than anyone else. He testifies about what he has seen and heard, but how few believe what he tells them! Anyone who accepts his testimony can affirm that God is true. For he is sent by God. He speaks God’s words, for God gives him the Spirit without limit. The Father loves his Son and has put everything into his hands. And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment.”

Light from Christ through the Word

John 8:12

Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”

Psalm 119:11

I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.

Liberty in Christ, in us by the Spirit

John 8:36

So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.

Galatians 5:1

So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law.

2 Corinthians 3:16-18

But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.

Quote of the Day

Wherever thou goest, whatever thou dost at home, or abroad, in the field, or at church, do all in a desire of union with Christ, in imitation of His tempers and inclinations, and look upon all as nothing, but that which exercises, and increases the spirit and life of Christ in thy soul. From morning to night keep Jesus in thy heart, long for nothing, desire nothing, hope for nothing but to have all that is within thee changed into the spirit and temper of the holy Jesus.
