Good morning everyone. This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. He has set us on the straight and narrow path. It takes concentration to stay on it. Can you keep your focus?
TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, let us pause to take stock of our country, for which so many have given their lives. We thank You for such dedication and for our opportunities, made possible through their sacrifices. As we look around at corruption in high places and at leadership that winks at immorality, let us not take this as license, but rather as a challenge for each of us to guard our own integrity. Remind us that You are our leader – our God – and that our nation will be strengthened or weakened by the actions of each individual citizen, for fear that we be held responsible for our short-sightedness and for the destruction of our nation. Help us to seek Your guidance for our immediate families, and for all other families in America, so that our nation’s direction may be pleasing to You. Thank You, Father. It’s in Jesus’ name we submit this prayer, Amen.
Let’s eat.
Have the Attitude of Christ
Philippians 2:1-11
Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate? Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose. Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross. Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
QUOTE OF THE DAY
Sometimes we don’t need another chance to express how we feel or to ask someone to understand our situation. Sometimes we just need a firm kick in the pants. An unsmiling expectation that if we mean all these wonderful things we talk about and sing about, then lets see something to prove it.
