Good morning everyone. As I sat here in my secret place I got one word dropped into my spirit; “short”. I put some thought to that single word and got some help from the scripture I’m about to share and things fell into place. I encourage all of you who may be going through rough times in your life to reply to this message at the email address (gckrs@usa.com) with your name and where you are from so I and others can send up a personal prayer for you. May you all stay blessed as we dive into the scriptures.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, I come before You on behalf of my brothers and sisters in Christ to ask that you remind us that neither Satan nor You can work within us against our will. You gave us “free will” and the choices are ours, aren’t they? You will hold us responsible for our choices. Oh Lord, let us choose You, Your way, EVERY TIME we make a choice. Help us, for we sometimes forget to consult You, and we are often weak. In Jesus’ name I pray and give thanks, Amen.
Let’s eat.
THINGS THAT ARE SHORT
Time is short
1 Corinthians 7:29-31
But let me say this, dear brothers and sisters: The time that remains is very short. So from now on, those with wives should not focus only on their marriage. Those who weep or who rejoice or who buy things should not be absorbed by their weeping or their joy or their possessions. Those who use the things of the world should not become attached to them. For this world as we know it will soon pass away.
Life is short
Psalm 39:5
“LORD, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered—how fleeting my life is. You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand. My entire lifetime is just a moment to you; at best, each of us is but a breath.”
The Sinner’s Joy is short
Job 20:1-5
Then Zophar the Naamathite replied: “I must reply because I am greatly disturbed. I’ve had to endure your insults, but now my spirit prompts me to reply. “Don’t you realize that from the beginning of time, ever since people were first placed on the earth, the triumph of the wicked has been short lived and the joy of the godless has been only temporary?
The Saint’s affliction is short
2 Corinthians 4:16-18
That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.
QUOTE OF THE DAY
“For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin – real life. But there are always some obstacles in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life.”
