Glenn’s Meal 12-20-13

1 122013 Servants

Good day everyone. Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice. As I sat waiting for my directions for today, the Lord took me to the book of Hebrews to give the perspective on three biblical men. The message today will require you to do a little homework because it sends you on a reading journey to get the full meaning of the message.

TODAY’S PRAYER

Father, as we go through this and everyday, may You be the one thing that we long for first. May You be the force that moves our judgment and lights the fire that will burn so brightly. May You be in every decision that we make and in every step we take, for You are the One thing that we don’t want to live without. We present this and all things to You in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Let’s eat.

THREE REPRESENTATIVE SERVANTS

HEBREWS 11:4-6

Abel came to God
(v. 4, with Genesis 3)

4 It was by faith that Abel brought a more acceptable offering to God than Cain did. Abel’s offering gave evidence that he was a righteous man and God showed his approval of his gifts. Although Abel is long dead, he still speaks to us by his example of faith.

Enoch walked with God
(v. 5, with Genesis 5)

5 It was by faith that Enoch was taken up to heaven without dying—“he disappeared, because God took him.” For before he was taken up, he was known as a person who pleased God.

Noah produced for God
(v. 6, with Genesis 6)

6 And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.

This is the Divine order. Man as a sinner must first come to God through sacrifice, by faith, before he can walk with God as a friend, or work for God as a servant.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

“We give ourselves to prayer. We preach a Gospel that saves to the uttermost, and witness to its power. We do not argue about worldliness; we witness. We do not discuss philosophy; we preach the Gospel. We do not speculate about the destiny of sinners; we pluck them as brands from the burning. We ask no man’s patronage. We beg no man’s money. We fear no man’s frown. Let no man join us who is afraid, and we want none but those who are saved, sanctified and aflame with the fire of the Holy Spirit.”
