Good day everyone and give thanks unto the Lord for He is good yes He is good and He is worthy of our praise. Today is the third and last course of the SON-SHIP banquet. So push up real close as we finish what’s on our plates.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear Heavenly Father, on behalf of my brothers and sisters in Christ I ask that in this new year ahead, let us not forget that a song isn’t our song until we sing it, our joy isn’t complete unless we can share it, and our love isn’t real love until we give it away! Oh Father, help us to see that it is in giving that we receive, that if we try to keep everything to ourselves we will smother both Your light and ours. Help us, Lord, to remember these things and to let others see You through us. In Jesus’ wonderful name I pray, Amen and Amen.
Let’s eat.
SON-SHIP
(Part 3)
In the last 2 days we have learned the word “Teknon” means “begotten ones” and “Whyos” means “sons”. Now we come to the finishing portion of a tremendous banquet. We will finish off this thing with 4 very important points about So-Ship:
THE ORIGIN OF SON-SHIP
Galatians 3:26 –
For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
1 John 5:1 –
Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has become a child of God. And everyone who loves the Father loves his children, too.
THE SPIRIT OF SON-SHIP
Galatians 4:6-7 –
And because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, “Abba, Father.” Now you are no longer a slave but God’s own child. And since you are his child, God has made you his heir.
Romans 8:14 –
For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.
THE PLACE OF SON-SHIP
John 8:35 –
A slave is not a permanent member of the family, but a son is part of the family forever.
Galatians 4:5 –
God sent him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own children.
THE MANIFESTATION OF SON-SHIP
Romans 8:19-29 –
For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are. Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But with eager hope, the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay. For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children, including the new bodies he has promised us. We were given this hope when we were saved. (If we already have something, we don’t need to hope for it. But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently.) And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.
It’s my hope that after this series of meals all of you know who you are and whose you are! Stay blessed until next time.
QUOTE OF THE DAY
“If true happiness depended on the thoughts of man, then all philosophers and deep thinkers would be filled to overflowing with it.”
