Growing Faith 08-12-19

Good day everyone. The only thing I want to write about today is faith and the Love of God through Jesus. I talked about it all last week and my friend Dave Izenbart preached it yesterday. This message will kick start your faith to another level.

Today’s Prayer

Father, I come to you this day standing in the gap for people everywhere to ask that you would remind us that all of our problems are not always Satan’s attacks, but some are Your way of testing us and challenging our faith to grow deeper roots. Only if our faith is tested will we be strong enough to stand when our lives are in crisis. Help us trust You all the way, and neverto fail You as the disciples did at Gethsemane and at the time of Jesus’ crucifixion. We need Your strength. In the wonderful name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Jesus Christ, Faith’s Object

Looking unto Jesus

Hebrews 12:2

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.

Our Savior; Learning of Jesus

Luke 10:38-42

As Jesus and the disciples continued on their way to Jerusalem, they came to a certain village where a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home. Her sister, Mary, sat at the Lord’s feet, listening to what he taught. But Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing. She came to Jesus and said, “Lord, doesn’t it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me.” But the Lord said to her,“My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.”

Our Strength Looking for Jesus

Philippians 3:12-20

I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. Let all who are spiritually mature agree on these things. If you disagree on some point, I believe God will make it plain to you. But we must hold on to the progress we have already made. Dear brothers and sisters, pattern your lives after mine, and learn from those who follow our example. For I have told you often before, and I say it again with tears in my eyes, that there are many whose conduct shows they are really enemies of the cross of Christ. They are headed for destruction. Their god is their appetite, they brag about shameful things, and they think only about this life here on earth. But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior.

Quote of the Day

When we make a true commitment to walk in love, it usually causes a huge shift in our lifestyle. Many of our ways – our thoughts, our conversation, our habits – have to change.
