A LESSON ON REPENTANCE 06-24-16

_ 031814 Repentance

(CLICK THE TITLE) Good morning everyone. I am filled with gratitude today because I have had a week in which my character has been tested. I stumbled a couple times but because of my faith in God, I didn’t fall. The meal today will deal with what the word of God shares on repentance.

Today’s prayer

Father, I come before you on behalf of myself and all those reading this message and ask that you please forgive us of all the thing we have done, intentional and unintentional that were not pleasing to you. We only want to be in your will, not against it. You gave us the Power of the Holy Ghost and we must call on that power daily. We ask this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Repentance

God now Commands it

Acts 17:30

God overlooked people’s former ignorance about these things, but now he commands everyone everywhere to turn away from idols and turn to him.

Christ is exalted to give it

Acts 5:31

Then God put him in the place of honor at his right hand as Prince and Savior. He did this to give the people of Israel an opportunity to turn from their sins and turn to God so their sins would be forgiven.

Sinners need it

Luke 13:3

Not at all! And you will also perish unless you turn from your evil ways and turn to God.

Conversion manifests it and Works confirm it

Acts 26:20

I preached first to those in Damascus, then in Jerusalem and throughout all Judea, and also to the Gentiles, that all must turn from their sins and turn to God–and prove they have changed by the good things they do.

Quote of the Day

Outside of Christ, I am only a sinner, but in Christ, I am saved. Outside of Christ, I am empty; in Christ, I am full. Outside of Christ, I am weak; in Christ, I am strong. Outside of Christ, I cannot; in Christ, I am more than able. Outside of Christ, I have been defeated; in Christ, I am already victorious. How meaningful are the words, “in Christ.”

Repentence is completely changing the way you think about something. You cease to do that thing because your mind has been changed.
