Man’s Refusals of God’s Grace 12-19-16

(CLICK THE TITLE) Good morning everyone. As I began to read scripture today, I thought about the number of people who reject the God I serve. That really blows my mind and makes me sad. But I know that my job is to stand in the gap for them until they get a revelation and come to there senses. I ask that you do the same.

Today’s Prayer

Father, if commitment means sacrifice, if commitment means always putting You first, if commitment means promising to grow in Your Word, if commitment means grit and endurance, if it means being a part of the “BODY of CHRIST,” and not just being able to quote scripture – then Lord, there is no way that we can make it on our own. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit so that in our lives we may find the wisdom, the strength, and the power we need to carry out this commitment that we now make to You. In the wonderful name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Man’s Refusals of God’s Grace

Began to make excuse

Luke 14:16-24

Jesus replied with this story: “A man prepared a great feast and sent out many invitations. When the banquet was ready, he sent his servant to tell the guests, ‘Come, the banquet is ready.’ But they all began making excuses. One said, ‘I have just bought a field and must inspect it. Please excuse me.’ Another said, ‘I have just bought five pairs of oxen, and I want to try them out. Please excuse me.’ Another said, ‘I now have a wife, so I can’t come.’ “The servant returned and told his master what they had said. His master was furious and said, ‘Go quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and invite the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.’ After the servant had done this, he reported, ‘There is still room for more.’ So his master said, ‘Go out into the country lanes and behind the hedges and urge anyone you find to come, so that the house will be full. For none of those I first invited will get even the smallest taste of my banquet.’”

Triflers; Go thy way for this time

Acts 24:25

As he reasoned with them about righteousness and self-control and the coming Day of Judgment, Felix became frightened. “Go away for now,” he replied. “When it is more convenient, I’ll call for you again.”

Procrastinators; Ye will not come to Me

John 5:39-40

You search the Scriptures because you think they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me! Yet you refuse to come to me to receive this life.

Neglecters; they say, Depart from us

Job 21:14

And yet they say to God, ‘Go away. We want no part of you and your ways.

Despisers; I called, but ye refused

Proverbs 1:29

For they hated knowledge and chose not to fear the Lord.

Quote of the Day

Every time a thought of superiority or vanity moves you, examine your conscience to see if you have kept all the commandments.
