090514 God sees us

Oh give thanks unto the Lord for He is good yes He is good. I was sitting here thinking of how God must see us and I started doing some soul searching. I got two different pictures in my mind so today I’m going to share the negative picture I got and some scripture that is right in line with it. Tomorrow I’m going to share the picture of what things are like when God cleans us up. Let it bless you.

Today’s Prayer

Father, I come to you this morning standing in the gap for my brothers and sisters everywhere as I share this perception; we asked for health, that we might do greater things; we are given infirmity that we might do better things. Sometimes it takes an infirmity to make us slow down enough to turn to You. When we are side-tracked, we have the time to contemplate our life and its direction. Help us to see that our life has too often been like driving in the fast lane. We have sped along without looking at a map, so caught up in our own thoughts and everyday demands that we haven’t had time to realize where we are headed. We wanted to do “greater things,” but now You have let infirmity force us to take time-out. Inspire us to use this time of recovery to see how we might serve You better. Help us slow down and sort out the important from the merely self-serving. Show us how to make our lives more meaningful, that others may be encouraged to know You. Thank You for this lesson and for Your patience. In the wonderful name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Man’s Photograph- part 1; In Nature

Head

Isaiah 1:2-5

Listen, O heavens! Pay attention, earth! This is what the LORD says: “The children I raised and cared for have rebelled against me. Even an ox knows its owner, and a donkey recognizes its master’s care— but Israel doesn’t know its master. My people don’t recognize my care for them.” Oh, what a sinful nation they are— loaded down with a burden of guilt. They are evil people, corrupt children who have rejected the LORD. They have despised the Holy One of Israel and turned their backs on him. Why do you continue to invite punishment? Must you rebel forever? Your head is injured, and your heart is sick.

Eyes

Acts 28:27

For the hearts of these people are hardened, and their ears cannot hear, and they have closed their eyes— so their eyes cannot see, and their ears cannot hear, and their hearts cannot understand, and they cannot turn to me and let me heal them.

Mouth

Romans 3:9-14

Well then, should we conclude that we Jews are better than others? No, not at all, for we have already shown that all people, whether Jews or Gentiles, are under the power of sin. As the Scriptures say, “No one is righteous— not even one. No one is truly wise; no one is seeking God. All have turned away; all have become useless. No one does good, not a single one.” “Their talk is foul, like the stench from an open grave. Their tongues are filled with lies.” “Snake venom drips from their lips.” “Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.”

Ears

Matthew 13:15

For the hearts of these people are hardened, and their ears cannot hear, and they have closed their eyes— so their eyes cannot see, and their ears cannot hear, and their hearts cannot understand, and they cannot turn to me and let me heal them.

Hands

Micah 7:3

Both their hands are equally skilled at doing evil! Officials and judges alike demand bribes. The people with influence get what they want, and together they scheme to twist justice.

Feet

Romans 3:15-18

“They rush to commit murder. Destruction and misery always follow them. They don’t know where to find peace.” “They have no fear of God at all.”

Quote of the Day

The cross is like a walnut whose outer rind is bitter, but the inner kernel is pleasant and invigorating. So the cross does not offer any charm of outward appearance, but to the cross-bearer its true character is revealed, and he finds in it the choicest sweets of spiritual peace. ~Sadhu Sundar Singh~
