REDEMPTION 05-04-16

_ 050416 REDEMPTION

(CLICK THE PICTURE) Good morning everyone. Oh give thanks unto the Lord for He is good yes he is good and worthy of our praise. The word “redemption” popped into my spirit so I went to scripture for a little food.

Today’s Prayer

Father, this week across our country, Christians will begin observing a National Week of Prayer. Help us each to commit to pray each day this week for our nation as we seek Your guidance for both our elected and civilian leaders, and also for ourselves. Let us remember our heritage and the prayers of our forefathers as they endured hardships to establish this nation. Help us to be worthy of their sacrifices, and of those who have in later years given their lives to save their nation. Let us also pray for Christians around the world, many in dangerous places, and for the people whom they are trying to help in nations suffering from hunger, poverty and sickness. Remind us to be informed voters, and to seek Your direction for our nation, for Christian are citizens too, and they have both a right and a duty to become involved, for fear that we fail to be “one nation under God” as we all recite in our Pledge of Allegiance. We pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Twofold Redemption

Redemption by Price

1 Peter 1:17-19

And remember that the heavenly Father to whom you pray has no favorites. He will judge or reward you according to what you do. So you must live in reverent fear of him during your time as “foreigners in the land.” For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And the ransom he paid was not mere gold or silver. It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.

Exodus 13:11-13

This is what you must do when the Lord fulfills the promise he swore to you and to your ancestors. When he gives you the land where the Canaanites now live, you must present all firstborn sons and firstborn male animals to the Lord, for they belong to him. A firstborn donkey may be bought back from the Lord by presenting a lamb or young goat in its place. But if you do not buy it back, you must break its neck. However, you must buy back every firstborn son.

Redemption by Power

Exodus 6:6

“Therefore, say to the people of Israel: ‘I am the Lord. I will free you from your oppression and will rescue you from your slavery in Egypt. I will redeem you with a powerful arm and great acts of judgment.

Psalm 49:15

But as for me, God will redeem my life. He will snatch me from the power of the grave.

The first has its type in the Blood of the Paschal Lamb

(Read Exodus 12 for more clarity)

The latter in the deliverance at the Red Sea

(Read Exodus 14 for more clarity)

An adventure is only an inconvenience rightly considered. An inconvenience is only an adventure wrongly considered.
