Good day everyone. What a friend we have in JESUS. What a wonderful opportunity we have to know Him as our Lord and savior. Are you taking advantage of the opportunity or are you one of those who is waiting to clean themselves up first?
Today’s Prayer
Father, remind us that our prayer-line to You is a two-way one. It is not just for us to call You in a crisis situation, it is also for You to call us! How can we know Your will for us if we are never “at home,” quiet enough, to receive Your calls? Are we so preoccupied with our worldly cares that we don’t hear and recognize Your voice? Do we not take time to be still and to wait upon You, Lord? Remind us that You don’t just call on Sundays “when the rates are less;” You want to be able to reach us any time and any place, when You might need us, or when You know that we need You. Our lives could be so much richer and fuller, so much more Christian and worthwhile if we talked with You every day! Help us to see this, Lord. It’s our call, isn’t it? In JESUS’ name we pray. Amen.
Let’s eat.
God’s Covenant with Abraham
Genesis 17:1-8 –
When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty; serve me faithfully and live a blameless life. I will make a covenant with you, by which I will guarantee to make you into a mighty nation.” At this, Abram fell face down in the dust. Then God said to him, “This is my covenant with you: I will make you the father of not just one nation, but a multitude of nations! What’s more, I am changing your name. It will no longer be Abram; now you will be known as Abraham, for you will be the father of many nations. I will give you millions of descendants who will represent many nations. Kings will be among them! “I will continue this everlasting covenant between us, generation after generation. It will continue between me and your offspring forever. And I will always be your God and the God of your descendants after you. Yes, I will give all this land of Canaan to you and to your offspring forever. And I will be their God.
Quote of the Day
Faith is to the soul what life is to the body. Prayer is to faith, what breath is to the body. How a person can live and not breathe is past my comprehension, and how a person can believe and not pray is past my comprehension too.
