THE BEAUTY OF PSALM 95 09-15-20

_-091516-botp

This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it. I went to the solace of the Psalms today for our meal. May the richness of scripture bless you.

Today’s prayer

Father, You are great and powerful. Show us the way, give us the insight, help us to know what to do and say to reach the lost around us. We pray for wisdom, for boldness, for the words to say, for understanding of their cultures, their situations, and their needs. Please give us the means and the knowledge to influence their minds, stir their emotions, engage their spirits, that Your Holy Spirit might prick their consciences and move upon them that they will call upon You to save their souls. Please examine our lives and show us any unclean thing that we may repent and ask Your forgiveness. We don’t want anything to stand in the way of Your working through us to make a difference in the lives of the lost and dying. We don’t want to quench the Holy Spirit. Instead, we want to be clean and willing vessels, ready for Your use; ready for the “God appointments” You send our way. Please have mercy Lord. May we be fresh in mind and spirit this day. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Psalm 95

Come, let us sing to the Lord!
Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.

Let us come to him with thanksgiving.
Let us sing psalms of praise to him.

For the Lord is a great God,
a great King above all gods.

He holds in his hands the depths of the earth
    and the mightiest mountains.

The sea belongs to him, for he made it.
His hands formed the dry land, too.

Come, let us worship and bow down.
Let us kneel before the Lord our maker,

    for he is our God.
We are the people he watches over,
the flock under his care. If only you would listen to his voice today!

The Lord says, “Don’t harden your hearts as Israel did at Meribah,
as they did at Massah in the wilderness.

For there your ancestors tested and tried my patience,
even though they saw everything I did.

10 For forty years I was angry with them, and I said,
‘They are a people whose hearts turn away from me.
They refuse to do what I tell them.’

11 So in my anger I took an oath:
‘They will never enter my place of rest.’”

Isn’t It A Wonderful Thing That Those Of Us That Have Made Jesus The Lord Of Our Lives Have Received The Rest Of God, Hallelujah!
