The Believer’s Hope 11-14-19

Good day everyone. I’m going to make a statement that should come as no surprise to anyone reading this message. We serve a awesome God who loves us in spite of our short comings. That statement alone should make you just want to run and shout. Give Him some praise right now.

Today’s Prayer

Father, I come before you on behalf of my brothers and sisters in Christ to proclaim that we are all sinners who fall short of Your expectations, but I ask that you also forgive us of our sins, intentional or unintentional. We understand that you are God all by Yourself and are a loving, forgiving God. Thank you for Your mercy and grace. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

The Believer’s Hope

An Anchor to the Soul

Hebrews 6:16-20

Now when people take an oath, they call on someone greater than themselves to hold them to it. And without any question that oath is binding. God also bound himself with an oath, so that those who received the promise could be perfectly sure that he would never change his mind. So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary. Jesus has already gone in there for us. He has become our eternal High Priest in the order of Melchizedek.

A Treasure in the Heavens

Colossians 1:3-5

We always pray for you, and we give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. For we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and your love for all of God’s people, which come from your confident hope of what God has reserved for you in heaven. You have had this expectation ever since you first heard the truth of the Good News.

A Person in the Heart

Colossians 1:25-27

God has given me the responsibility of serving his church by proclaiming his entire message to you. This message was kept secret for centuries and generations past, but now it has been revealed to God’s people. For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory.

A Power in the Life

1 John 3:3

See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him. Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is. And all who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure, just as he is pure.

Quote of the Day

We have ample evidence that the Lord is able to guide. The promises cover every imaginable situation. All we need to do is to take the hand he stretches out.
