Wait On The Lord 08-01-20

_ 081114 Waiting on god

Praise God for another day and a new month. All of us have the same opportunities to seek God’s face. The question is who will actually do it? Today I’m going to share a little of my life’s experience with you.

Today’s Prayer

(Make this personal for you if it fits)

Father, we have heard that you are never late, seldom early, but always on time. When I think back through the experiences of my life, I can see the truth in that statement. Thank you for always being on time. Thank you for the lessons you have taught me through waiting, through suffering, through the storms and valleys and for your faithfulness always. Thank you for the rays of sun that peaked through the clouds in the way of a praying spirit and helping hand from other Christians.  Thank you for the sun that shone brightly after the storms and cloudy days, and for your Son who is my sun and shield, the Lord Jesus Christ. If you had always been on my time schedule, I wouldn’t have learned much in life, so I am thankful that you are always on time according to your schedule. I praise you for who you are and all you’ve done. May I always be seen by you through the blood of Jesus. In His name I pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Waiting for the Lord

———-

Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. ~ Psalm 27:14

———-

In our spiritual lives there many things that are important to hold on to. Hearing and doing God’s will are two most important steps that often get confused as one step. However, these are two distinct processes. Hearing God’s voice is only 50 percent of the process. The next important step is to know when to move. It’s one thing to hear; it’s another to know when to act. There was a time when the Lord showed me I was to teach and coach young people on a full time basis. This was a major change in my life from what I was doing. I was a young with no children and part of the music and night club scene, being foolish with the women. So I began to try to juggle both sides of my life and it didn’t work. This became a real source of frustration because I wanted to do what God gave me to do, but on my terms. Finally, after many years of bumping my head against obstacles I gave in and God blessed the work. HE provided the abilities that I didn’t possess on my own.

That is how my ministry began and I didn’t even realize it till many years and my trials later. God is always on time. He is never late, and He is seldom early. Ask God for the wisdom to discern His will and His timing for the events in your life.

Quote of the Day

I want Thy plan, O God, for my life. May I be happy and contented whether in the homeland or on the foreign field; whether married or alone, in happiness or sorrow, health or sickness, prosperity or adversity – I want Thy plan, O God, for my life. I want it; oh, I want it.
