Warning about Judging Others 12-15-16

(CLICK THE TITLE) Good morning and praise the Lord for His mercy and grace. Just think of all the times that He spared your life or the life of those around you. Praise Him!

Today’s Prayer

Father, I come before you on behalf of my brothers and sisters in Christ to say thank you for your many blessing. Thank you for holding us up when we feel we can’t make it any further. Thank you for being our great provider even when some of us don’t think we have anything. Thank you for keeping us from harming others even though we sometimes become filled with rage. Thank you for the Holy Ghost that you sent for your children. Thank you for loving us. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Let’s eat.

Warning about Judging Others and Self-Confidence

James 4:11-17

Don’t speak evil against each other, dear brothers and sisters. If you criticize and judge each other, then you are criticizing and judging God’s law. But your job is to obey the law, not to judge whether it applies to you. God alone, who gave the law, is the Judge. He alone has the power to save or to destroy. So what right do you have to judge your neighbor? Look here, you people who say, “Today or tomorrow we are going to such and such a town, stay there a year, and open up a profitable business.” How do you know what is going to happen tomorrow? For the length of your lives is as uncertain as the morning fog–now you see it; soon it is gone. What you ought to say is, “If the Lord wants us to, we shall live and do this or that.” Otherwise you will be bragging about your own plans, and such self-confidence never pleases God. Remember, too, that knowing what is right to do and then not doing it is sin.

Quote of the Day

We must feel toward our people as a father toward his children; yea, the tenderest love of a mother must not surpass ours. We must even travail in birth, till Christ be formed in them. They should see that we care for no outward thing, neither liberty, nor honor, nor life, in comparison to their salvation…When the people see that you truly love them, they will hear anything from you…Oh therefore, see that you feel a tender love for your people in your hearts, and let them perceive it in your speech and conduct. Let them see that you spend and are spent for their sakes.
